Homes and land for sale in Box Elder County, Utah

Box Elder County is one of Utah's largest counties by area, running from the Wasatch Front out to the Nevada line. I-15 runs north through the eastern edge, and I-84 splits off to the northwest at Tremonton. Brigham City is the county seat and the main service center.

The populated part of the county is concentrated along the mountains and through the Bear River valley. Most of the land area west of that is open country. Golden Spike National Historical Park at Promontory marks where the transcontinental railroad was joined, the Bear River Migratory Bird Refuge sits at the mouth of the Bear River, and Willard Bay State Park is on the county's southeast edge. The Great Salt Lake forms the southern boundary.

Because the county is so large, two listings at the same price can be completely different purchases. A parcel with water shares attached and a parcel without them are not the same thing, and neither are two lots that look identical until you check which canal company serves them. This is the part of a Box Elder County purchase I spend the most time on, and it is the part most often glossed over.
