The rundown
About Hyrum
Hyrum sits at the south end of the valley with Hyrum Reservoir right at the edge of town. The state park there is a genuine day-to-day amenity rather than a drive, which is a real part of the town's appeal. Blacksmith Fork Canyon runs east from just south of town into the mountains.
The town has an older core with housing that goes back a long way, and newer building has gone in around it as the valley has grown. It sits far enough south that it has kept its own identity rather than becoming an extension of Logan, while still being a manageable commute.
South and east of town the ground turns to farm and canyon quickly, so acreage and small parcels come up here more often than they do closer to Logan.

Buying ground around Hyrum
Water, septic, access, and tax status are each their own question on a parcel, and none of them show up in listing photos. These go through what to confirm.
Horse property and small acreage
Small acreage is the most common thing people ask me for around here. It is also where the listing photos and the zoning ordinance most often disagree.
Buying land in Cache County
Cache Valley is a bowl with a lot of small towns around the edge of it, and land here is mostly a question of which town's rules you are standing in.
